Elon Musk claims that his brain-interface technology company (BCI), Neuralink, is less than a year away from implanting chips in human brains.
When asked about plans for the company in 2022, the billionaire just smiled.
'Neuralink is working well in monkeys, and we're doing a lot of testing to confirm that it's very safe and reliable, and that the Neuralink device can be safely removed,' Musk said.
'We hope to have this in our first humans next year, pending FDA U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval, which will be people with severe spinal cord injuries such as tetraplegics and quadriplegics.'
'I believe we have a chance of allowing someone who cannot walk or use their arms to walk again–though not naturally.'

Neuralink demonstrated its brain chip in a monkey on April 9, 2021, allowing the animal to play Pong using only its mind.
While the animal was playing the game, the device in its brain recorded information about the neurons firing and learned to predict the movements it would make.
A word from the author of the article, Amit Caesar:
In the not-too-distant future, we will be able to teleport our minds into the metaverse and fulfill all of our dreams without destroying the planet. I believe we will be able to repair brain damage and then teleport the mind into the metaverse.
