Virtual Reality Glasses Star VR One Reaches the Business Area

1 min read

Star VR One is the culmination of a several-year project of the Star VR One prototype. The company focused primarily on providing a wide field of human vision (210 degrees by their measure), along with advanced features like eye tracking. The previews of expert reviews are fantastic.

The first production units are ready and available through the StarVR One developer program, the company announced today. For now, only specific candidates will purchase the virtual reality glasses. And right now, only in select areas of North America, Europe and Asia are eligible to purchase the Virtual Reality Goggles StarVR One through the developer program.

The $ 3,200 delusional price is for the glasses only and without additional equipment, and does not include the base stations or tracking controllers needed to use virtual reality glasses. Because one Star VR One uses SteamVR Tracking 2.0, however, it will work with any SteamVR base station (1.0 or 2.0) and controllers, such as those that come with the original Vive or Vive Pro.

Unfortunately, if you don't already have base stations and controllers, the only way to get them is to buy directly from HTC which will add another $530 to your kit (Tip: New Vive, which includes base stations and controllers, costs $30 less than buying base stations and controllers separately). This means that in full operational mode one StarVR will cost about $ 3,700.

Star VR have previously said that while they intend their virtual reality glasses to offer "premium virtual reality glasses" designed for commercial use and organizations in most cases, the company will sell virtual reality glasses to anyone who wants one, including consumers. It is unclear when private consumer virtual reality glasses will released on the market, or if the $ 3,200 developer price will remain as virtual reality glasses become more available in the market.
