The closer we get to CES 2022, the more excited we become. The annual Las Vegas-based event, which begins on January 5, 2022, will feature a slew of promising new tech products, including the Kura Gallium AR headset, which we're keeping an eye on.
The Kura Gallium's specifications are superior to those of most other augmented reality headsets on the market, and it features an eye-catching glasses-style design that is a welcome change from most other devices' bulky appearances.
The Kura Gallium has a 150-degree field of view and a resolution of up to 8K, which are two of its most appealing features. Both of these features are far superior to those offered by competing headsets, which typically have a 52-degree field of view and a resolution of 1080p.

According to a performance comparison chart on Kura Technologies' website, the headset is also free of ghost imaging. This is an unfavorable effect that causes the displayed image to appear duplicated, blurry, or both, and eliminating it as a potential issue for AR technology is a significant step forward.
Kura has been working on the Gallium for several years, and it's shaping up to be one of the most impressive consumer AR devices we've seen so far, but high-tech doesn't come cheap. The Gallium will set you back $1,199 (around £900 / AU$1,700) or $899 (around £680 / AU$1,200) for the Gallium Lite, a smaller device with fewer features.
Still, if the Kura Gallium has a good showing at CES 2022, it might be worth investing in when it launches. While we won't be attending the event in person due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, we'll be keeping an eye out for first impressions of the Kura Gallium AR headset and many other new gadgets as the event unfolds.
