Ross explains on his Patreon page he had to create a completely new framework for Red Dead Redemption 2: “Basically everything I built for the GTA V mod was now obsolete and needed to be rewritten from the ground up.”
He spent six months working full time on the mod after taking the plunge, and now plans to use Patreon to continue improving the Red Dead mod and mod other games such as Cyberpunk 2077, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Watch Dogs: Legion.
Last November, Red Dead Online, the online multiplayer component of Red Dead Redemption 2, was released as a standalone game. It's also available on Xbox Game Pass.
For one, it's not compatible with VR motion controllers, so you're stuck using traditional control methods like mouse and keyboard. Additionally, the mod can be a bit demanding on your hardware, so you'll need a powerful PC to run it smoothly.But despite these drawbacks, the Red Dead Redemption 2 VR mod is a must-have for any fan of the game.
